Memberships

Shield Lubricants will ensure that our products and services meet our customer’s expectations, our own high standards and comply with all relevant regulations. Membership to the following associations allow us to use the ACEA specifications used by manufacturers providing a fully OE approved oil range.
Specific quality objectives will be set and reviewed through our management review process. To help achieve these, we will maintain a quality system that meets BS EN ISO 9001 – “Quality Management Systems – Requirements”. We must strive to continually improve our performance by regularly evaluating our products and services and identifying actions to ensure that our objectives are achieved and that problems are prevented.

We blend using high quality virgin base oil ranging from Group 1 to Group 4

A strict quality control system is in place at the blending stage with all our products tested in the laboratory at every point in the blending process. Incoming raw materials like base oil and additives are tested as per the specification of supplier and accepted only if it meets the required specifications. The in-process goods are tested as per the product data specifications prepared keeping in mind the SAE J 300 and other relevant standards requirements like DIN, MIL, JASO, ISO etc. Once it is approved by the lab after testing, it is filled in various packs and again before shipping key tests are carried out to ensure the product reaches to the end-user with all approved tests by following strict ASTM standards.

With memberships to the following authorising bodies this shows our devotion to the brand and the industry to delivery quality products at affordable prices.

EELQMS
The European Engine Lubricant Quality Management System (EELQMS) was developed jointly by ACEA (The European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association), ATC (The Technical Committee of Petroleum Additive Manufacturers in Europe) and ATIEL (The Technical Association of the European Lubricants Industry).

It is designed to promote the development of improved, fit-for-purpose engine lubricants that meet the increasing technical requirements of the automotive industry, and to assist lubricant marketers in assuring the quality of their lubricants and the performance claims being made for them in the marketplace.

Although voluntary, the EELQMS is the only system that can be used to support claims against the ACEA Oil Sequences, which set the minimum performance specifications for lubricants used in different European automotive engine categories, and so enable lubricant marketers to include those performance claims on their product labelling.

Marketers are required by ACEA to sign the EELQMS Marketers’ Letter of Conformance (LoC) if they make an ACEA claim for their products. The signing of an LoC by the lubricant marketer, who is wholly responsible for the quality of the lubricant reaching the consumer together with any performance claims being made for it, is the final stage in the process to demonstrate commitment to the EELQMS. Signed LoCs are submitted to ATIEL, which administers the EELQMS on behalf of the other stakeholders.

ATIEL
ATIEL (the Technical Association of the European Lubricants Industry) is a non for-profit association under Belgian law (Association Sans But Lucratif-ASBL).

For the last 25 years, ATIEL has proudly acted as the voice of the lubricant industry, using its members’ collective expertise to push the boundaries of engine oil innovation to the benefit of vehicle manufacturers, consumers, and the environment.

Our members have the expertise and field experience to support and inform discussions around the effects of engine design changes on lubricant performance.

Our involvement in the early stages of engine design
allows for key insights from the lubricant industry to improve engine performance and reduce emissions, and ensures the lead time required to reformulate lubricants to meet new specifications.

UKLA
UKLA
UKLA was formed in 2005 by a merger between BLF, the long standing UK Lubricants Industry Trade Association and the UK Delegation to UEIL – the European Lubricants Industry Organisation for the sector.

UKLA is now the UK Delegation of UEIL. Acknowledged as the Lead Body by UK Government, UKLA has a pro-active policy – a knowledgeable Secretariat and has a wealth of knowledge and experience on Technical & Regulatory matters – amongst its Members and various Working groups.

UKLA members are provided with services from three sources: – the UKLA Secretariat, the Board of Directors and the Association’s active volunteers.
